Costco gift baskets in Canada (2026): prices, when they come out and the after-Christmas clearance

Costco gift baskets in Canada cost about $29.99 to $99.99 in the warehouse: snack baskets, spa baskets, gourmet food sets and serving pieces wrapped as gifts. They arrive from early September, the full range is out by late October to November, and what's left is marked down from December 22, often to half price by early January. Prices here are warehouse shelf prices, which vary a little by region.

What gift baskets does Costco Canada sell in 2026?

Seen in Canadian warehouses by October 29, 2026 (West: BC to Manitoba; East: Ontario and Atlantic Canada):

The Temptations basket is the same item in both regions, sold as a gift basket in the West and a tote bag gift set in the East (Costco West, Costco East). More arrive through November: last year the biggest sets, like the Royal Hotel crate, came in early November (Costco West).

What did Costco gift baskets cost last Christmas?

The 2025 season, with the lowest price each reached:

Contents aren't on the shelf tags the fan blogs photograph, so check the box in the warehouse for allergens and anything perishable (Costco West).

When do Costco gift baskets go on sale?

Rarely before Christmas. Instant savings on gift sets were small and late: $8 off the Peanuts set in early December 2025 (Costco West), and $15 off a treat tower until December 24, 2024 (Costco West). The real drop comes after:

• December 22: the first .97 clearance prices, like the spa basket at $24.97 in both regions (Costco West, Costco East).
• Boxing Day: treat towers, serving plates and mug sets (Costco West).
• December 29: the larger sets, like the Royal Hotel crate at $69.97 (Costco West).
• Early January: a second step down, to half price on several (Costco West).

So buy for a gift by mid-December, while there's choice, and buy for yourself after Christmas. Some sets, like the picnic basket and the Temptations basket, never reached clearance in our records: they sold through. Other holiday markdowns are in Costco Boxing Day.

Can you mail a gift basket with wine or beer?

Not yourself, through Canada Post: only liquor boards, manufacturers and distributors with a Canada Post contract may ship alcohol, with proof of age on delivery, and the rules vary by province (Canada Post). Costco's warehouse gift sets in our records were food, snacks, cocoa and spa products, which you can mail; a basket with wine needs to be carried to the door.

Can someone pick up Costco gift baskets for you?

Yes. An independent local helper can do the Costco gift run for you: a personal Costco shop is $45 for up to 90 minutes, including picking out gift sets, checking dates and bringing them to your door within 20 km. For a bigger holiday list, a Costco run and delivery is $49 for one trip, at Flatcart's set prices. Feeding a crowd too? See Costco party platters.
