Costco Boxing Day in Canada (2026): what goes on sale, Black Friday or Boxing Day, and hours

Costco Boxing Day in Canada isn't a one-day sale. In 2025 the holiday savings ran from December 22 to January 18, so the same deals were there before Christmas and for three weeks after, with a few new tags on December 26 and clearance on holiday items at prices ending in .97. In 2024 Western warehouses ran a short Boxing Day flyer from December 26 to 29, then a January flyer from December 30 (Costco West).

Does Costco have a Boxing Day sale in Canada?

Yes, but it's the tail of the holiday savings, not an event like Black Friday. About a third of the items on sale at Boxing Day had also been on sale at Black Friday, often at the same price, and many savings simply ran from late November through December 26. What's new on Boxing Day is mostly a handful of fresh tags on electronics and Apple products, and clearance on what didn't sell for Christmas: wrapping paper, lights, ornaments and trees.

What was on sale at Costco on Boxing Day 2025?

Seen in Western warehouses on December 26, 2025, most also in Ontario (Costco West, Costco East):

Clearance showed up the same day: an Apple iPad Pro 13-inch at $1,299.97, 50 Kirkland Signature gift bows at $9.97 and a 9 ft pre-lit Christmas tree at $499.97 in an Ontario warehouse. Clearance prices vary by warehouse (Costco West FAQ).

What did Costco discount on Boxing Day 2024?

From the December 26, 2024 posts (Costco West, Costco East):

Holiday clearance in 2024 included Kirkland Signature Christmas wrap and two sets of 100 Sylvania LED lights at $9.97 each in the West, and an Air Canada $500 gift card at $449.99 in Ontario and Atlantic warehouses. Toys follow the same pattern: a few LEGO sets get savings in boxing week, and the deep toy clearance comes from January to March; see Costco LEGO and toys. Gift baskets and gift sets reached half price by early January 2026, after the 2025 season; see Costco gift baskets.

Is Costco cheaper on Boxing Day or Black Friday?

It depends on the item. Comparing the same item numbers in the Costco West posts:

The pattern: TVs and appliances usually keep their Black Friday price through Boxing Day, Dyson and some big TVs drop a little further in late December, and smaller TVs and sound bars can be cheaper at Black Friday. If you see a deal in November you like, buy it, then watch the price: Costco refunds the difference if it drops within 30 days while the new price runs.

Is Costco open on Boxing Day?

In most of Canada, yes, with shorter hours. In 2025 warehouses opened 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on December 26 in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario and 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Quebec, and were closed in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland, where provincial law closes most stores on Boxing Day (Narcity; Nova Scotia). The 2026 hours, Christmas Eve and New Year's are in Costco Christmas hours.

Can you get a price adjustment after Boxing Day?

Yes, within 30 days of buying, while the lower price is still on and the item is in stock: bring your receipt to the membership counter. A TV bought on Black Friday that drops again on December 26 qualifies if you're still inside the 30 days. Clearance prices ending in .97 usually don't; ask. The rules are in Costco price adjustments.

How do you get a Boxing Day TV or appliance home?

Costco.ca orders include delivery on TVs and many appliances, but a warehouse purchase is yours to get home, and a 77-inch box won't fit in most cars. An independent local helper can do the run and bring it in (Costco run and delivery, $49 at Flatcart's price), mount the new TV (TV mounting, $169 on drywall) and take the old one away (junk removal, $89).
