Costco Christmas hours in Canada (2026): Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year's and Remembrance Day

Costco Christmas hours in Canada follow a pattern: in 2025 warehouses were open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas Day, open on Boxing Day in most provinces, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve and closed on New Year's Day. Costco had not announced its 2026 warehouse hours as of October 15, 2026; last year they were reported in mid-December, and we will update this page when they are. Business Centres have already posted 2026 hours, below.

What are Costco's Christmas hours in Canada in 2026?

Here are this year's dates with the hours Canadian warehouses kept in 2025, as reported by Narcity and Daily Hive. Treat the 2025 column as a guide, not a promise, until Costco posts 2026 hours:

Christmas Eve opened an hour earlier than the usual 9:00 a.m. in 2025, and Daily Hive reported extended holiday shopping hours in Metro Vancouver in the weeks before Christmas. Your warehouse page in our Costco locations directory has its regular hours; check it the week before.

Is Costco open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

Christmas Eve, yes, with an early close. In 2025 Canadian warehouses were open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on December 24, according to Narcity and Daily Hive, and MTL Blog reported the same hours in Montreal in 2024. In 2026 Christmas Eve is a Thursday, when Costco would normally close at 8:30 p.m., so expect it to close early again.

Christmas Day, no. Warehouses were closed on December 25, 2025, and Costco Business Centres list Christmas Day 2026 as closed.

Is Costco open on Boxing Day?

In most of Canada, yes, but it depends on your province, because provincial law decides whether big stores can open on December 26. In 2025 Narcity reported Costco open 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, 1:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Quebec, and closed in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.

• Ontario: Boxing Day is not a holiday under the province's Retail Business Holidays Act, so stores can open.
• Quebec: stores open in the afternoon on December 26; Montreal warehouses opened at 1:00 p.m. in 2025.
• Atlantic Canada: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador list Boxing Day among the days most retail stores must close. We found no report for Prince Edward Island; check the Charlottetown warehouse before you go.

Boxing Day 2026 falls on a Saturday, when Costco normally closes at 7:00 p.m., so the 8:30 p.m. close from 2025 (a Friday) may not repeat.

Is Costco open on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day?

New Year's Eve, yes: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in 2025. New Year's Day, no: warehouses were closed on January 1, 2026, and Business Centres list January 1, 2027 as closed. Regular hours return on January 2.

Is Costco open on Remembrance Day?

It depends on where you live. Remembrance Day is Wednesday, November 11, 2026, and the rules come from provinces and some cities:

We found no reports for B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, P.E.I. or Newfoundland and Labrador; check your warehouse page the day before.

What are Costco Business Centre holiday hours in 2026?

Are Costco gas stations open on Christmas and Boxing Day?

We found no reported 2025 gas station hours for these days in Canada. Gas stations normally open at 6:00 a.m., three hours before the warehouse, and on Thanksgiving 2026 Costco.ca listed them as closed along with the warehouses (see the Costco hours guide), so expect them closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day and fill up by December 24. Today's prices are on our Costco gas prices page.

Does Costco have a Boxing Day sale?

Yes, Costco ran Boxing Day savings in 2025: the Costco West fan blog listed a Boxing Day sale for December 26 to 28 in Western Canada, and iPhone in Canada reported Boxing Day phone deals with Costco Shop Cards. If you bought the same item for more within the previous 30 days, a price adjustment gets you the difference. This period's member savings, with their dates, are in our Costco flyer guide.

Still need a tree? See Costco Christmas tree prices and when they go on sale.

TVs, computers and phones bought as gifts have a 90-day return window, so a TV bought on Boxing Day must be back by March 26, 2027; see the Costco return policy.

Short on time in December? An independent personal shopper can do the Costco run, and a setup helper can put up the tree and lights.
