Costco snow blower in Canada (2026): the models, prices and when to buy

A Costco snow blower in Canada is a short list, and mostly an Ontario and Atlantic one: this fall the Yard Force 26-inch two-stage gas model is $749.99, the Greenworks 80V 24-inch battery model has ranged from $1,399.99 to $1,999.99 since 2024, and a Greenworks battery snow shovel is $299.99. We found no snow blowers in posts from Western Canadian warehouses in the last two winters, so out West, check your warehouse or Costco.ca before you go.

Which snow blowers does Costco Canada sell?

Seen in Ontario and Atlantic Canada warehouses from October 2024 to October 2026, from the Costco East fan blog. Prices are as posted:

From the makers: the Greenworks 80V 24-inch is a self-propelled, two-stage battery machine with push-button start, a chute that turns 200 degrees, a throw of up to 50 feet and room for up to three batteries (Greenworks Canada). The Yard Force 26-inch has a 212 cc engine, electric or manual start, heated grips and a throw of up to 40 feet, according to Yard Force's October 2025 announcement of the model sold in 2025 (the 2026 item number is new, so check the box). The Greenworks 12-inch shovel clears 12 inches wide and 8 deep with one 2.0Ah battery (Greenworks Canada).

When do Costco snow blowers go on sale?

• September: the battery snow shovel arrives first (September 4, 2026).
• Early to mid October: the gas and battery snow blowers arrive at regular prices.
• January: the only instant saving we found on a snow blower: $400 off the Greenworks 24-inch, January 17 to February 2, 2025. We saw no snow blower sale in January 2026.
• Late winter: no clearance on snow blowers in the posts we read; the manual shovels clear instead.

Prices move between seasons too: the Greenworks was $1,999.99 in November 2025 and $1,599.99 a month later. Bought one just before a drop? Within 30 days of purchase, Costco gives back the difference while the lower price lasts; see Costco price adjustments.

Gas or battery: which Costco snow blower should you buy?

• A long driveway, or heavy snow from the plow: the Yard Force 26-inch gas two-stage at $749.99. It's the cheapest two-stage machine Costco had, and the widest. Gas engines need fuel, oil changes and a spring tune-up.
• A quiet machine with no fuel to store: the Greenworks 24-inch, ideally on sale. Battery run time depends on how many batteries you have and how heavy the snow is, so check the kit in the box.
• Steps, decks and a short walk: the Greenworks 12-inch shovel at $299.99. At 8 inches deep, it's for regular light snowfalls, not the plow ridge at the end of the driveway.

Winter tires are the other big cold-weather buy at Costco; see winter tires at Costco.

Does Costco sell snow shovels?

Yes, cheap ones each fall. In Ontario and Atlantic warehouses, a Birdrock snow shovel 2-pack was $29.99, or $23.99 with $6 off several times between November 2024 and January 2025, and cleared at $9.97 at the end of March 2025. Western warehouses had a Suncast 20-inch shovel combo at $19.99 in November 2024.

How do you get a snow blower home and ready?

A two-stage snow blower comes in a big, heavy box that won't fit in most cars, and it needs its handle and chute fitted before the first use; a gas model also needs oil and fuel, as its manual explains. An independent local helper can pick it up from the warehouse and bring it home: see Costco pickup and delivery. Replacing an old machine? A junk removal helper can take it away; ask first whether they take gas engines. Storm season too? See Costco generators.

Can you return a snow blower to Costco?

Yes. Snow blowers aren't on the list of TVs, major appliances, computers and other electronics that Costco limits to 90 days, so its general satisfaction guarantee applies, with no time limit stated. Keep the manual and accessories, and take it to the membership counter; the full rules are in the Costco return policy.
